Customers Are So Mad: Whole Foods Was Just Caught Doing The Most Shocking Thing To Their Groceries
January 5, 2021 by Justine Schwartz
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning to Whole Foods for mislabeling food products for the presence of food allergens. Scary!
The government agencies said last week that the Amazon-owned grocery chain had not been labeling some products correctly, leading to a series of product recalls. Yikes!
Customers took to social media to express their frustration with the food chain’s handling of their allergy needs.
“Since John Mackey @WholeFoods is trending, a reminder that WF is one of the worst offenders when it comes to #foodallergy awareness,” Tweeted a rather unhappy customer on January 4th.
“Glad that @WholeFoods less than optimal #foodallergy awareness is being addressed by the FDA,” wrote another, referencing a vegan cookie incident they had previously experienced at the chain. “It has been a recurring problem for a lot of FA folks, many of whom rely on WF for allergy friendly foods.” This is bad!
