Will and Jada Pinkett Smith are one of Hollywood’s power couples that seem completely devoted to each other. Recently, Jada addressed her relationship with singer, August Alsina, during a brief separation from Will.
Jada confessed to the romantic relationship with August Alsina on her Facebook Watch show Red Table Talk. Apparently, Will knew about the relationship and gave his blessing. Will joined his wife on Red Table Talk to address the issue.
The relationship started as friendship with both of the Smiths and the singer. Jada said, “Four and a half years ago… I started a friendship with August and we actually became really, really good friends." She continued, "And it all started with him just needing some help, me wanting to help his health, his mental state."
Around that time, Will and Jada were dealing with marital issues. They briefly separated. Jada says that Will knew about the relationship and gave her his “permission” to carry on with it. She further clarified, “One thing I want to clean up… about you (Will Smith) giving 'permission' which is... the only person that can give permission in that circumstance is myself.”
The couple took to Red Table Talk to clear things up. Jada says, “Through that particular journey, I learned so much about myself and was able to really confront a lot of emotional immaturity, emotional insecurity and I was really able to do some really deep healing." The couple had obviously worked out their difficulties. Jada says that all is good now and Will says that was “years ago” and he has moved on. "We have really gotten to that new place of unconditional love," said Jada.
