8 Women’s Movement T-Shirts That Everyone Should Own

January 23, 2018 by Kiarra Lyles

From Washington D.C. to Los Angeles, millions of people gathered in major cities for the 2018 Women's March. "Women," according to Vanity Fair, "were inspired by the Time’s Up movement, by their communal sharing of #MeToo experiences of sexist treatment and/or sexual misconduct, and a general sense of being fed up with what they characterize as a patriarchal status quo." While one of the best parts of the women's march is seeing the witty signs and catchy slogans, there are also some pretty amazing shirts that sum up the movement, too! Here are some of our favorite women's movement t-shirts and where to get them!

Celebrities like Sophia Bush, Krysten Ritter, and Jessica Alba have been spotted rocking this GRL PWR graphic sweatshirt by Rebecca Minkoff. The sweatshirt is a part of Minkoff's "RM Superwomen" collection and brand philosophy that aims to inspire fearless women to spark social dialogue through events and online. According to a press release, Rebecca Minkoff "has made a significant monetary donation to [The Women's March] and in support has launched a campaign along with key activists and women in the movement, highlighting their mission and individual voices." The sweatshirt is currently sold out, but you can get an email update when it's back in stock!

Time's Up is not only a woman's movement slogan, it's a campaign. "We’re all sort of workers among workers and– women among women sort of rolling up our sleeves and doing whatever sort of comes to the forefront,” says actress Tracee Ellis Ross about the movement. Because a new day is on the horizon, you'll definitely need this official Time's Up shirt!

According to Otherwild, "The original 'The Future Is Female' t-shirt design was made for Labyris Books, the first women’s bookstore in New York City, which opened in 1972 by Jane Lurie and Marizel Rios." The slogan still lives on today in the women's movement, and makes for a really good t-shirt! Also, according to Otherwild, "25% of shirt sale proceeds are donated to Planned Parenthood!"
