Costco is very popular among shoppers for their wholesale deals, great prices, and delicious food items. However, the grocery store chain is catching some flak for a number of products that have missed the mark lately. We scoured numerous Reddit threads to get the opinions of customers on the worst products to buy at Costco.

Rotisserie Chicken

Though the rotisserie chicken for sale at Costco is sold at a great price ($4.99) and has become a fan favorite for many, recently, it seems to have been on the decline. One Reddit user noted that it had a “distinct chemical flavor” and others agreed, saying it tasted “chemically and soapy.”

Other people posted that they’ve “noticed a distinct chlorine-like taste” and that theirs often taste “like the plastic they’re packaged in.”

One person, who claims they’re in the “top 1% of rotisserie chicken consumers” says that she’s had that chemical “happen every now and then” and has learned that “the smaller chickens taste better.” There’s a tip for shoppers!

Kevin’s Natural Foods Brand

In a Reddit thread titled “Kevin’s Korean BBQ is soooo bad,” customers shared their bad experiences with the Kevin’s Natural Foods brand. Speaking on the Korean BBQ, the user shared that “it tastes horrible” because “the sauce does not have enough flavor or sweetness” and “meat texture is horrific.”

Another user agreed, writing that they have tried almost all the products the brand has released and “they are all awful.”

“I’ve found all the Kevin’s stuff we’ve tried from Costco to be incredibly disappointing,” another customer shared.

“The general consensus is that Kevin doesn’t have taste buds,” a fourth user posted.

Realgood’s Chicken Grande Enchiladas With Tomatillo Sauce

Another frozen food that has missed the mark with Costco customers is Realgood’s chicken grande enchiladas with tomatillo sauce. One Redditor voiced the opinion of many, writing, “Costco, WTF were you thinking? 0 out of 5 stars.”

Another shopper agreed, writing, “The sauce is nothing close to a real tomatillo sauce—it’s watery, needs salt, they don’t even taste roasted, and doesn’t have the subtle lime taste tomatillo sauce is known for.”

“Absolute trash,” another comment reads. “Seriously, the chicken filling was bland and didn’t even taste like chicken.”

“Sooooo gross!” a final fan wrote.

Don Lee Farms Crispy Shredded Chicken Tacos

One user recommends avoiding Don Lee Farms’ crispy shredded chicken tacos, describing the meal as “so disgusting” and saying the taste is enough “to make you puke.”

The replies to this original post are mixed, with some customers saying they’re actually not bad if you put them in the air fryer, but others saying, “Don’t do it!”

“They’re a decent snack if done in the air fryer and dressed up a little,” one user wrote.

“Not gonna lie, I loved these things out of the air fryer!” another added.

But another user replied, “These were greasy trash.” Looks like you’ll have to try them for yourself to decide.

Kirkland Organic Hard Boiled Eggs

Kirkland organic hard boiled eggs are another product that receives mixed reviews. One user posted that "the hard boiled eggs are pretty gross, they have a weird flavor," and others agreed.

Another customer wrote, "I've gotten these, they always taste funny to me too. Almost like I can taste the plastic."

But another shopper disagreed, saying, "I eat the heck out of these and have not had any issues. Perhaps you got an improperly stored batch."

Luckily, hard boiling eggs at home isn't too difficult of a task, so if the Kirkland eggs aren't up to your standards, you can make them at home!

Beast Cookie Co.

One new product is a caffinated cookie created by Beast Cookie Co. Redditors were not pleased with the treat, writing, "This is a disaster waiting to happen.

"180mg of caffeine in one cookie? Such a terrible idea," posted another shopper.

"Unfortunately these have chicory root in them and that is a no-go for me," one user replied.

"What a bad idea," another wrote. "Kids will buy these because of the colorful packaging without knowing the harm it can cause."

Tipiak Pull Apart Cheese Bread

This cheesy bread treat is not a favorite of Costco shoppers. One Reddit thread is filled with negative comments calling it "awful" and "very greasy."

"It's not good," one customer wrote. "It is more of a cream cheese than stringy cheese."

"Disappointing," another posted. "Way less cheesy than we hoped."

"Agreed," one fan responded. "The bread cooled quickly and got hard."

A final customer commented, "Not good. Too much bread, bland cheese. I would not buy again."

Chicken Bake

This food court item has not only been called "bad quality" by shoppers on Reddit, but also "much smaller" compared to earlier years.

"Yeah these suck, the inside is not as good either," one shopper wrote.

"I won't buy them anymore," another customer posted. "They are also bland now."

Another shopper called it "shrinkflation" while a fourth poster said "it's another big downgrade to the food court."

Though these and more were a disappointment to Costco shoppers, hopefully the store provides enough delicious items to keep customers coming back.
