Let's be real: gas stations aren't our first pick for buying food in general. But when you're on a road trip or running late, it ends up being a last resort. However, just because you're getting food at a gas station doesn't mean you can throw your diet away completely. Definitely try to avoid these foods to keep your diet and health on track!

chips

We all know that chips are extremely unhealthy for us, so why buy them? They're filled with trans fats, excess amounts of sodium, and preservatives that can not only make you gain weight, but can cause serious health problems like cancer! No matter how tempted you are to buy them, just put the bag of chips down and walk away!

candy

Candy is also terrible for our health. These sugary sweet treats are filled with preservatives, excessive amounts of sugar, saturated fats, and empty calories. Candy will go striaght to your tummy and thighs, so be careful!

hot dogs

Hot dogs are absolutely disgusting. First off, the process of making hot dogs is revolting, and they're filled with saturated fat and sodium that will make you gain so much weight! Also, think about how long that hot dog must have been sitting in that gas sation...

beef jerky

Store-bought beef jerky is extremely bad for you, mainly due to the fact that its soaked in preservatives, such as MSG. If you're really craving jerky, try making this healthy, homemade turkey jerky recipe the night before so you're ready to hit the road without any gas station food stops!
