As with every grocery store, there are always items you’d be silly to try and buy somewhere else, but there are also items better left on the shelf. Luckily, most of these grocery stores like Trader Joe’s, Costco, or Aldi have loyal superfans who aren’t afraid to share what’s on the “Do Not Buy” list, and often even post their thoughts online for anyone to find. In a Reddit thread that’s now gone viral, it was Aldi superfans’ time to shine, listing out their pick for worst items at Aldi, and we made a list of the worst 8. Keep reading for all the details.

60+ Gift Ideas For Everyone On Your List
coffee creamer

1. Sugar-Free Coffee Creamer

The first item on our list is Aldi's Sugar-Free Coffee Creamer. While it's a nice alternative for those who are trying to lower their sugar intake, some superfans say it's just not worth it. "I would've paid to see my own face when I took that first sip," one customer said of their experience trying it out.

"That stuff is nasty!" another customer shared, and a third agreed: "Absolutely awful!"

"Yes, I accidentally bought the sugar-free one by accident and omg GROSS!" another superfan added. We'll be sticking to our sugar-full creamer, thank you very much!"

deli meat

2. Deli Meat

Deli meat is another item that superfans on Reddit are advising to stay away from, suggesting going to a specialized deli instead. "Their turkey deli meat is bad," one person wrote. "Their ham is okay but the turkey is always slimy and gross texture-wise."

"Had their sliced turkey breast there once," another person shared. "Never again."

"Some things are better to buy at a discount!' said a third person. "Deli meat at Aldi is not one of them. Go to a real deli, it's worth it."

confetti brownies

3. Confetti Brownies

Aldi's dupe for Cosmic Brownies is one of the items that so many customers add to their cart, but most of them end up throwing out. "Their knock off version of cosmic brownies were the biggest disappointment in my entire life," one person wrote. "It's one thing to dislike. These tasted so foul. I wish I could sue for someone making something so disgusting."

"The off brand cosmic brownies just don't hit the mark sadly," agreed another person.

"Tastes like what I imagine licking the inside of any random beaker in a laboratory to taste like," offered a third, as a fourth described them as "depressing."

corned beef hash

4. Corned Beef Hash

A niche product, indeed, which makes it even more important to only purchase the delicious versions of it, and Aldi sadly doesn't not have a good one. "My girls love corned beef hash, they went on a kick for awhile so I bought like 10 cans from Aldi," one customer shared. "Little did I know how terrible it would be, assumed it would be decent like most of their canned goods...super greasy, like twice has much fat as what comes in a can from Mary's brand."

"That canned corned beef hash was the worst canned food product I ever purchased in my entire life - and I'm 73," another person agreed. "So, yeah, EPIC horrendous."

lobster mac and cheese

5. Lobster Mac & Cheese

Truly, any lobster mac & cheese that you have to microwave probably isn't going to be good, but Aldi superfans were quick to confirm this hunch. "Their frozen lobster Mac and cheese is the worst thing I’ve ever had," one shopper said. "Imagine making Mac and cheese but only using cooked fish water to boil the noodles and then putting breadcrumbs on top which just absorb the fish juice. It’s revolting."

"This one is seriously disgusting," another person agreed.

"Just trust me that it is the most disgusting food I've ever smelled or eaten," another superfan agreed, comparing to to "eating the stinky insoles from shoes you wear without socks."

pizza rolls

6. Pizza Rolls

An hard product to mess up, but unfortunately, Aldi found a way, according to shoppers. "Even drunk me had to throw them in the trash," one person said.

"What taste were they going for?" another person asked. "Microwaved they were nasty, cooked in oven same."

"Repulsive!" a third simply added.

tartar sauce

7. Tartar Sauce

Another one that seems difficult to mess up, and yet! "Just bought the tartar sauce recently," one customer shared. "Do not buy!! Do not buy!! Horrible!"

"It has a consistency of snot," another person described. "You're so much better off making your own."

"Worst tartar sauce ever," agreed a third person. "Couldn’t even grasp it."

cream cheese

8. Cream Cheese

And finally, when it comes to cream cheese, just stick to the name brand! "Their cream cheese is comically bad," wrote one person.

"The cream cheese has the flavor and consistency of drywall mud," agreed another shopper. "Avoid at all costs."

"Agreed with the cream cheese," added a third. "The one and only time I got it it was gritty in texture. So gross!"
