McDonald's has so many delicious options on its menu. From the Big Mac to their Chicken McNuggets, you know that you're in for a treat every time you order. But, employees say that they're tired of seeing customers make the mistake of ordering THIS menu item. It's been on the menu for a long time, but they revealed that it's actually never served fresh. It's the Filet-O-Fish Sandwich!

A Reddit user who said he used to work at McDonald’s three year ago said, “I can promise you that Filet-O-Fish is not fresh by any stretch of the imagination.” In fact, another former employee said that the patties would sit out all day before they were served!
"I used to work at McDonald's. Don't order our fish patties," the employee warned customers on Reddit. "No one ever does and I swear some days we'd make a batch and it would sit there all day until someone ordered some."

But, this didn't seem to faze customers who love the sandwich. A loyal customer said, "If you’re going to serve me a square piece of fish that tastes the exact same whether I order it in Denver or the south of France, I am under no assumption that it is by any means fresh. And I am completely okay with that, it’s my go-to comfort food.”
If you're like this customer and will still be ordering the Filet-O-Fish Sandwich when you're at McDonald's, employees suggest that you ask for it to be"cooked to order" to ensure that it's fresh. "At McDonald’s just say you want a fish filet cooked to order," another employee advised. "It will take ~5 more minutes but worth it compared to the filet that has been sitting in a heated cabinet for hours."
