Sometimes you just can't fight off those salty Mickey D cravings, especially late at night. While the fast food chain is always there at your fingertips, that doesn't mean you should always reach for it. It turns out, there's one really gross reason you should never use the McDonald's drive-thru late at night, according to an employee.

Your Coffee Fix Might Not Come From A Clean Source
Late night drives sometimes require a caffeine boost-- but that doesn't mean you should stop at McDonald's for a hot cup of coffee. According to a McDonald's employee on Reddit, the McCafe machines never get cleaned. "I work for McDonald's and make sure everyone that matters to me never orders anything that comes out of the 'McCafe' machine as these are routinely neglected, in practically all the McDonald's," the employee says.
You especially won't want to be ordering from dirty machines after they've been used all day. We say, if you want a hot cup of coffee then you should use the drive-thru early on in the day for a better chance at getting a fresh fix. Plus, we're not so sure we can expect any of the machines to be in tip top shape late at night-- it's better (and healthier) to avoid it.
Another Reddit thread asked users to share what customers should never order at the fast food chain they worked at. Yet another McDonald's employee spilled their drive-thru secrets. The worker recommended avoiding ordering food past 11 p.m. since some employees may care less when preparing your food late at night.
