Add Mariah Carey to the list of celebs who are now confirming that the rumors about Ellen Degeneres are true!
The singer recently commented about an “extremely uncomfortable” interview moment she had while appearing as a guest on “The Ellen Degeneres Show” in 2008. We can’t believe this was buried for so long!

The video, which has resurfaced on Twitter amid the allegations of a toxic work culture at the show, shows Carey visibly uncomfortable during one of Ellen’s “bits.”
The bit involved Ellen challenging Mariah Carey to drink a sip of champagne. There were rumors circulating at the time that Mariah was pregnant (she would later go on to experience a miscarriage). While Ellen and her producers might have thought it was funny, this just seems cruel to us!

Mariah confirmed to New York magazine that the experience was in fact awkward for her; in the video clip which is also available on Ellen's website, the talk show host attempts to comedically address rumors that the singer was pregnant by urging her to drink a glass of champagne to prove everyone wrong.
"I can't believe you did this to me, Ellen," Mariah says uncomfortably. "This is peer pressure. You see what Ellen is doing? This is peer pressure."
"Let's toast to you not being pregnant," DeGeneres replies.
"Oh, my goodness. I can't believe her," Carey says. OMG we feel so bad for her. "Why would we toast to that?" she asks.
Ultimately Degeneres snaps "You're pregnant!" and Carey continues to deny it.

On Ellen's site the caption for the video reads, "Ellen Can Tell That Mariah Carey's Pregnant" and "Mariah Carey won't respond to pregnancy rumors, but Ellen knows how to get an answer out of her without saying anything." Ouch!
Although it might seem innocent to some, anyone who has experienced a miscarriage knows why Mariah was reluctant to speak publicly about a new pregnancy. This is a new low, Ellen!
