Tom Brady recently announced that he will be leaving the New England Patriots after being on the team for 20 years. The NFL star made the announcement on his Instagram and Twitter accounts, thanking the team and the fans.
He captioned the post, “LOVE YOU PATS NATION.”
A few days later, he posted a second Instagram, announcing that he had signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
As the Patriots' quarterback, Brady won six Super Bowls, four Super Bowl MVP Awards, and three NFL MVP Awards.
The news definitely came as a shock to fans. In January, rumors spread that Brady might be leaving the team when he posted a photo of his silhouette looking at Gillette Stadium.
However, when Brady appeared in Hulu's Super Bowl commercial, he insisted that he was "not going anywhere."
In February, Gisele Bündchen, Brady's wife, spoke to the rumors on Instagram, saying that she was not sure where she would be living next year, but hoped it would be "somewhere nice and wherever my husband is happy playing.”
After Brady's announcement, the supermodel also spoke out on Instagram: " Boston has been so good to us and will always be in our hearts. We will forever have wonderful memories. Our kids were born and raised there and we have made special friendships to last a lifetime. I’ll miss our friends, the beautiful change of seasons and the rides to the stadium to go cheer for Tom and the Pats."
