A preview has just been released of Amber Heard’s first TV interview since she lost the widely-publicized multi-million-dollar defamation lawsuit brought against her by her ex-husband Johnny Depp. And we can’t believe what she had to say! Speaking with NBC’s Savannah Guthrie on Thursday, June 9th, Heard shockingly said that she “doesn’t blame the jury” for the verdict, suggesting that the “meme-ification” of the trial and the almost-constant barrage of social media attacks against her was too much for her to overcome.

“I don’t care what one thinks about me or what judgements you want to make about what happened in the privacy of my own home, in my marriage, behind closed doors,” the 36-year-old Aquaman star said. “I don’t presume the average person should know those things. And so I don’t take it personally.”

"But even somebody who is sure I'm deserving of all this hate and vitriol, even if you think that I'm lying, you still couldn't look me in the eye and tell me that you think on social media there's been a fair representation. You cannot tell me that you think that this has been fair," Heard continued.

Social media did seem to overwhelmingly support the 59-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean star over the course of the gripping six-week trial, as proved by the fact that the TikTok hashtag 'Justice for Amber Heard' received 27 million views, while one for Depp racked up a whopping 20 billion views in comparison! Wow!

"I actually understand. He’s a beloved character and people feel they know him. He’s a fantastic actor," she said of her ex-husband. Guthrie pushed back that the jury’s job is to look past the individual and deal with the facts, and suggested that ultimately, when it came down to it, they simply did not believe what Heard had to say. "Again, how could they, after listening to three and a half weeks of testimony about how I was a non-credible person, how not to believe a word that came out of my mouth?" questioned Heard.

Either way, the trial is over now, with the court awarding over $10 million to Depp in damages. Despite being awarded $2 million in her counter claim, Heard is set to appeal the decision amid comments from her lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft, claiming she cannot afford to pay the court-issued sum. When asked, again by Guthrie, if Heard would be able to afford it, Bredehoft swiftly answered. "Oh no. Absolutely not."
