As life starts to return to normal amid the coronavirus pandemic, many are returning to their pre-pandemic work routines—including the British royal family. In recent days, several senior members including Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Prince William, and Princess Anne have been seen around carrying out official engagements.
Like most working of us working from home, the royal family had to switch from in-person engagements to video conferencing. As the world shifts to operating like “normal” even as the pandemic continues to spread, social engagements will not be the same for a while.
The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall visited staff at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. They met with key workers who have been on the front lines of the coronavirus crisis. Camilla had previously revealed that the most difficult thing about being in isolation was not being able to hug her grandkids. The Duchess shared she was able to see her grandchildren for the first time. “Not hug them but see them, a great treat,” she said.
Princess Anne visited the Duke of Gloucester Barracks in Gloucestershire to meet soldiers involved with COVID-19 operations. Prince William visited the Kings Lynn Ambulance Station to thank the staff for their work. Strict social distancing policies used throughout all visits.
After three months of working remotely, the senior royal family members were happy to finally get about and about. As the world slowly moves back to normal activities, the royal family will be also slowly return to their normal routine.
