Ellen DeGeneres is receiving backlash for a recent tearful video. The talk show host took to Twitter to talk about the killing of George Floyd, the Black Lives Matter Movement, and the protests. However, many fans weren’t happy with the video, considering recent complains about Ellen’s behavior toward her staff.

In the video, DeGeneres says, "I don't know what to say. I am so sad, and I am so angry."
She continues, "And I know I'm not gonna say the right thing, and I know there are gonna be a lot of people who are gonna be in disagreement about what I say."
The host explains, "I have a platform, and I have a voice, and I have always stood for equality, and I always wanted to be the voice for people who didn't have a voice because I know what that feels like."
"I'm just so sorry that it's come to this," DeGeneres explained. "This has gone on way, way, way, way too long. People have gotten away with murder."
Ellen ended her video with a call for "fairness and justice for all."
Despite Ellen's kind words and good intentions, the video has received some major backlash in light of the recent accusations about Ellen's character, referring to the host as a hypocrite. Additionally, many fans encouraged her to focus on donating instead.
