Millions of viewers tuned in to watch the Oprah with Meghan and Harry television special that aired on March 7th of this year. Oprah Winfrey’s interview with the ex-royals was filled with bombshells that shocked not only the world, but more specifically, the royal family.

But when you hear the latest bombshell about Meghan Markle, your jaw will drop!

According to sources, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, was hoping for an apology after the interview with Oprah aired. After revealing her fragile mental health and suicidal thoughts during her pregnancy with Oprah and everyone who tuned in to CBS, Meghan believed an apology from the royals would be forthcoming. According to Tom Quinn, author of Kensington Palace: An Intimate Memoir, Meghan had no intention of upsetting the royal family with the comments, but was looking for sympathy from them.

Quinn revealed in the Channel 5 documentary Meghan at 40: The Climb To Power: “I think she was hoping for an apology, I think she was hoping they would phone and say, 'We are really sorry, we now see that we pushed you too far. We should have behaved differently, we should have sat down as a family and discussed your mental health issues'.”

According to Quinn, Meghan was shocked that Prince Harry’s royal relatives did not jump to apologize and make amends. He added, “I think she was horrified afterward that the reaction was so negative from the family and they didn't respond in the way that she wanted.”

While Meghan certainly got the support from her husband, she still has not received the same comfort from the royals. Harry spoke out about his own disappointment and shock with the royal family’s refusal to apologize to Meghan for turning her away when she needed support and even counsel when she struggled with suicidal thoughts. During the Oprah interview, Harry said: "I thought my family would help, but every single ask, request, warning, whatever, it is just got met with total silence, total neglect."
