Hoax Alert: “New” Breast Cancer stamp

There’s a reason you’re not supposed to believe everything you read on the Internet… Chain letters have been circulating about a new breast cancer stamp, but it’s a hoax. The fake stamp, which is an illustration of four women wearing bright sarongs, is very pretty, but a quick Google search shows that it’s a phoney.

Here’s the truth about the real Breast Cancer Research stamp: The original stamp debuted in 1998 and shows a woman giving herself a breast exam. It’s a “semi-postal” – meaning that though each one costs 45 cents, it acts as a 37 cent stamp, with the remaining eight cents donated to breast cancer research.
