The best way to up your hair game? Leave-in conditioner.
Leave-in conditioner is my secret weapon. As someone with long hair that’s prone to frizz, I reach for my trusty leave-in conditioner any time I notice my hair looking extra frizzy and/or tangling excessively (both signs of damage, BTW). Leave-in conditioners are not to be confused with regular conditioner, which needs to be rinsed out in the shower. Leave-in conditioner works all day long to boost conditioning, simultaneously helping to de-tangle, restore shine and texture, and protect against heat damage.
The key is to ensure that your leave-in conditioner works without weighing down strands—which is why spray works well. Leave-in conditioning spray is great for anyone with fine hair, or hair that’s gone limp and lost volume due to product build-up.
Ever since I got married in December and spent a lot of time getting my hair teased and sprayed at hair trials, I’ve been using leave-in conditioning spray. One of my favorites is the Previa Hydrating Leave-In Conditioner Spray ($40).
Formulated with white truffle phytocomplex, ginseng extra, and hydrolyzed soy/wheat proteins, Previa Hydrating Leave-In Conditioner Spray ($40) helps eliminate frizz, enhance shine, and strengthen the overall look of your hair. Its biphasic formulation—”biphasic” meaning that it works in two phases—repairs split ends and leaves hair feeling softer.
Because it’s a spray, you’ll see best results on damaged, brittle hair or fine hair. Amazon recommends you shake before using and spray onto the ends of damp hair (vs. the scalp). I like to use about a dime-sized amount, and then comb through with a wide-tooth comb.
Recently, I got my hair cut and asked the stylist how often I should be using leave-in conditioner. She told me that it’s a case-by-case basis, but a good rule of thumb is to use it after taking an “everything shower” (as in when you do everything in the shower: shaving your legs, doing a deep clean, etc.). Those with thin/fine hair might not want to use it as often because this texture can easily get weighed down by conditioning products.
Amazon shoppers are obsessed with the Previa Hydrating Leave-In Conditioner Spray ($40), because unlike other leave-in conditioning sprays, it’s lightweight and provides instant moisture to keep your hair looking its best. “This does a great job of moisturizing my hair without weighing it down or making it oilier than it already is,” one 5-star reviewer gushed. “I have tried a lot of products and this one surprised me by how well it works. …I have used it on damp and dry hair and the conditioning effects are obvious right away,” someone else wrote.
The Previa Hydrating Leave-In Conditioner Spray ($40) could be exactly what you need for bombshell hair. Ready to try it?
