60+ Gift Ideas For Everyone On Your List

Imagine finally forking over $20K for an Hermes Birkinthe most sought after handbag in the world–only to discover is has a terrible odor. Something you’d imagine Lil Wayne’s tour bus to smell like.

According to Page Six, customers are returning their newly purchased Birkins after complaining that they smell like weed. Hermes staffers are blaming this pungent odor on a “badly tanned” batch of leather, which is especially potent whenever it is exposed to sunlight.

This “worldwide problem” (yes, there are pot-smelling bags from New York to Paris) doesn’t just stop at Birkins. Some Kelly bags and Elan clutches made in 2013 and 2014 were also affected. If you bought a crocodile skin bag, you can thank your lucky stars because this style did not fall victim to bad tanning.

Customers are sending their bags with what is being called “skunk stinky syndrome” back to Paris to have the entire thing rebuilt from scratch with new leather. But why not just try to sell it for more $$$$ to Snoop?
