Recession Beauty: Target’s Designer Makeup

September 23, 2008 by SheFindsBecky

As if we needed another reason to love Target. They have cute shoes, cool clothes, and groovy housewares at wallet-friendly prices, and this month they've started carrying three new beauty lines, too.

First up is Pixi by Petra ($12-$39). This brand was carried briefly by Sephora, and I fell in love with it instantly. It's got a fresh, young, dewy vibe.

What I want: Brightening Primer Makeup ($33) says it "imparts 3-D holographic pigments" that make skin appear brighter and younger. Not only am I on an eternal quest for brighter looking skin, but I have such fond memories of those one-eye-red, one-eye-blue 3-D glasses and holographic stickers that there's no way I could pass this by.

JK Jemma Kidd ($14-$36) is all about the fashionistas. According to the release, JK is designed to create "iconic catwalk looks" without being "overly trendy". Hmm. Confusing semantics aside, the line is a little bolder, a little brighter.

What I want: I Radiance Creme Color Collection ($18) offers creamy blendable crease-resistant shadow in five shades. I'm clumsy with the powder stuff. Creamy is dreamy.

NP Set by Napoleon Perdis ($12-$30 is natural without being nude.

What I want: Cruise Blush Collection ($18) is cream blush (it comes in three shades) so it's easier to achieve "dewy' and won't crumble when it's bangin' around in my purse.
