After the hardcore crack down on everything from hand sanitizer to bottled water, travelers can now hydrate. But only in small quantities. Here’s the official word from the TSA:
* Travelers may now carry through security checkpoints travel-size toiletries (3 ounces or less) that fit comfortably in ONE, QUART-SIZE, clear plastic, zip-top bag.
* After clearing security, travelers can now bring beverages and other items purchased in the secure boarding area on-board aircraft.
At the checkpoint travelers will be asked to remove the zip-top bag of liquids and place it in a bin or on the conveyor belt. (Larger amounts of prescription liquid meds and baby formula must be declared at the checkpoint.)
What’s the magic number? 3 oz is the max allowed for liquids, gels, and aerosols in your carry-on for plane travel. So learn how to pack light. But you can travel with your water bra and gel insoles again, hooray!
