We love buying independent art. What’s not to appreciate about getting one-of-a-kind, totally unique items and supporting small businesses at the same time? The major challenge, of course, is actually finding those special goodies. Craft fairs and the like are awesome, but there are only so many of them (and during the pandemic, pretty much none). That’s why we love Pixels, the marketplace that stocks art, clothing, and home items designed by independent artists from all over. There are literally thousands of items available so it’s definitely worth exploring yourself, but here are some of our favorites:

Beach Glass Weekender Tote Bag: With art by Linda Woods, this sturdy tote is perfect for a picnic, beach day, or overnight trip. The pretty turquoise design is reminiscent of treasures you might actually find at the shore. Customize the color of the rope strap as well as the scale and placing of the design.

Sloth Coffee Mug: Start your day with a smile by drinking your coffee out of this adorable mug. Made by Toronto artist Eric Lamp, the sweet little black and white sloth can be printed on a mug of literally any color on the spectrum.

Oneline Dancer iPhone 12 Case: We love the understated sophistication of this phone case, designed by French illustrator Quibe Sarl. The line drawing wraps around the sides of the hard shell case for the perfect look. The same design is also available for any other iPhone or Galaxy size.

Online Dancer iPhone 12 Case by Quibe Sarl, $25

Blue Gate Canvas Print: Transport yourself to a land far, far away with this beautiful print from Italian photographer Silvia Ganora. We think it’d look especially pretty hung in a kitchen or bathroom. Pixel gives you tons of different options for customizing your print, including size, shape, canvas type, and frame.
