The One Mistake You’re Making When Ordering Soda At A Restaurant

Who doesn’t treat themselves to a regular Coke when they go out to dinner? While you might think ordering a soda at a restaurant is harmless, it’s actually worse than buying your own solo can or bottle to drink.

You know the drill, you order a regular Coke and it’s gone before your appetizer comes out. The waiter asks if you want a refill, you ask if it’s free, it is, and then you’re all like “bring ’em on!” Well, according to Health.com, your first glass of soda at a restaurant has about 33 grams of sugar, which is equal to more than 8 teaspoons. Eek. Now you’re getting refill after refill and… you do the math. That’s a ton of sugar, and way more than the recommended amount for women to have in a day by the American Heart Association.

Word to the wise, if you’re going to drink soda, do it on your own terms. That way you can monitor your sugar intake instead of getting too refill-happy.
