2014 is the year of the
fashion sneaker and the
mom jean, but those trends didn’t just emerge out of thin air—we have style bloggers to thank for them. Without these impeccably-dressed, eternally self-promoting women, certain trends would be lost on us–especially the more obscure ones like normcore and mom jeans. Style bloggers are often like living dolls (sometimes
quite literally) who show us what trends we should be craving and
how to pull them off (did the half tuck even exist before them?). They are the translators, the middle-men, the messengers, and without them we might have never
worn Birkenstocks again. They have their own
designer collaborations, are responsible for creating the
“It” bag or shoe, and earn
seven-figure salaries. Their role in the fashion industry is undeniable, and sorry magazine editors who want the front row back: they’re not going anywhere.
2014 was a big year for style bloggers, and to celebrate, we’ve compiled a list of the best. Behold, the Top 14 Style Bloggers of 2014, a list comprised of the style stars that really killed it this year. The list runs the gamut from Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere, who just so happens to be writing her second book—to Courtney Trop of Always Judging, who could be considered one of the pioneers of Normcore. The bottom line is that each of these bloggers has one thing in common: they killed it in 2014.
