There’s been a lot of talk, this New York Fashion Week in particular, about sensible footwear. Basically, the New York City streets are covered in ice, slush, and that gross kind of solid, kind of slushy dirty-looking snow. Sure, you can navigate in a pair of heels, if you stash ’em in your bag and throw them on a block away from the show venue, but for the most part: it’s pretty crappy out there.
There are people who have braved the icky conditions, stepping delicately in their Gianvito Rossi pumps or Saint Laurent sandals (why? why sandals??), but not everybody has time or patience for all that tiptoeing, including Tina Fey. The comedienne was spotted leaving yesterday’s Carolina Herrera show in a cute little ensemble: black blouse, floral print skirt, glen plaid coat and…Hunter “Original Tall” Rain Boots ($140). Apparently, Fey was rocking much fancier footwear during the show, but once she hit the streets, she slipped into the more weather-appropriate Wellies.
Tina Fey: she’s just like us… unwilling to ruin a good pair of shoes for the sake of fashion. Hats (heels?) off to you, Ms. Fey!
