Graphic sweaters and sweatshirts have been trending since 2014, and Isabel Marant is one of the designers who does them best. Celebrities flock to her knitwear, including her black and white print ‘Samuel’ sweater from her F/W collection, which quickly became a street style star requisite.
So, were we surprised to see that fast fashion giant Topshop released a black and white graphic sweatshirt that looked quite similar to Marant’s? Not at all! Luckily for both designers, they are different enough that you shouldn’t expect a trademark infringement case over them–BUT luckily for shoppers, they are similar enough that you can roughly get the look of Marant’s for 1/6 of the price:
