For brides getting married in 2019, the wedding planning fun is just beginning. Planners and vendors are already seeing a crop of new trends popping up as they start to look towards the coming year. From food and flowers to attire and decor, here are 15 trends that are sure to be super hot in 2019.

1. Shades of Purple
"I am seeing a lot of purples from violet to periwinkle. This trend is prevalent in lighting options throughout the space with designs and in floral," says Carrie Mabery, Conference and Catering Manager, Loews Minneapolis Hotel.
2. Bringing Nature In
Rustic and vintage motifs are also going to see a decline as far as design goes, says Brian Worley, director of design for Atlanta’s Bold Catering & Design. "The idea of bringing the outdoors IN with lots of tailored greenery will replace the use of flowers in centerpieces. Green or Emerald, much like Merlot and Champagne, will be a coveted color for 2019."
3. Video Mapping
Video mapping will be making its mark in 2019 as it is finally becoming more accessible to couples, says Kevin Dennis, owner of Fantasy Sound Event Services. "With video mapping through the use of projectors, you can literally transform the room in any way you choose, playing into your celebration’s them. Couples will have the chance to select from endless colors, shading and design elements."
4. Dahlias
Brides will be flocking toward dahlias in 2019, says Joan Wyndrum of Blooms by the Box. "They are the quintessential focal flower for any arrangement because of their wide color variety and intricate layers. Ranunculus will be the big pick for any bride desiring a romantic flower with a bit of whimsy."
5. Drones
One of the biggest videography trends you are going to see in 2019 is using drones to capture different perspectives of the wedding day, says Keith Phillips of Classic Photographers. "The ability to get that steady motion in your videos is now easier thanks to these devices."
6. Mix & Match Groomsmen Attire
Step aside, bridesmaids--it’s the groomsmen’s turn to mix and match, says Megan Velez of Destination Weddings Travel Group. "We predict menswear to take center stage down the aisle, with a heavier focus on tailored fits and pops of color. Checkered patterns, floral prints, and refined polka dots are just a few styles popping up more and more."
7. Unplugged Ceremonies
Unplugged ceremonies will continue to increase in popularity, says Phillips. "Expect more signs to pop up, encouraging guests to put away their cell phones and enjoy the moment. This, of course, won’t be the case with the reception, where guests will be eagerly sharing the experience in real time on their phones."

Not only is this a trend at receptions, but it's also gaining popularity for registries, say the experts at Canvas Home.
9. Tiaras
Of course with a recent royal wedding, tiaras are taking the stage again as brides try to create their fairy tale dream wedding complete with a princess bride, says Meghan Brumbley, owner and lead planner at DC Engaged.
10. Small Plates
Sit‐down meals will remain a perennial favorite, but with a twist as brides and grooms want the opportunity to experiment and customize their menus, says Jeff Farlow, Executive Chef at Wente Vineyards. "Couples will be requesting small plates and added courses, giving guests the chance to enjoy lots of options on a smaller scale."
11. Deeper Colors
Expect to see brighter, deeper wedding color themes in 2019 instead of the traditional rustic, pastel theme, says Caleb Backe of Maple Holistics.
12. Statement Place Cards
From tiny elephants with jewels to clothespin clipped ribbon walls, one trend is finding a creative “wow” for guests to find their place card, says Mabery. "I have had several inquiries for Champagne splits or towers with place cards attached. With this trend the sky is the limit!"

Menus and desserts are getting more creative every year, and 2019 will see more DIY food bars at weddings, says Backe.
14. Hanging Florals
Hanging floral centerpieces will continue to be one of the biggest requests from couples--and with good reason, says Wyndrum. "You don’t take up as much space and if you devote your florals to a single statement, you can potentially skip the individual centerpieces altogether."
15. Silver & Chrome
"You will probably be seeing more silver and chromes and you may see glitter as well instead of the gold and rose golds that were in style for some time," says Backe.
