Air fryers have become quite popular in recent years, thanks to the fact that they allow for a simple way to whip up a range of healthy recipes. However, just like many devices, they come with safety risks. Unfortunately, that’s why 6,000 Secura air fryers have now been recalled after reports of the fryers catching fire, burning, and smoking. 6,000 Secura air fryers recalled due to safety hazards
If you have Secura air fryer, you'll want to listen up: the Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that there have been 9 reports of these products catching fire, burning, and smoking. Due to the safety risk posed by these air fryers, about 6,400 have now been recalled. The recalled products were sold on Amazon and Secura between May 2019 and October 2020. If you're unsure whether your air fryer is included in the recall, you can check the model number and date code. Recalled air fryers will have a model number of SAF-53D (TXG-DT16E) and a date code 1901 OR a model number SAF-53 (TXG-DS16) and date codes 1903 and 1904.

What to do if you have a recalled air fryer
If you are in possession of one of these recalled products, you should stop using it immediately and return it for either a free replacement from Secura or a $45 Amazon gift card. Be sure to take a photo of the recalled unit with the power cord cut off and note the product's date code, as this is required for your replacement. (But you will not need to provide a receipt.)
