PowerXL air fryers have been pulled from shelves due to one of the pieces being prone to breaking and consequently burning users. The affected products were sold across multiple stores, including Walmart and Target.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission reported the recall on Dec. 14th and noted that it would impact 319,000 air fryers sold between August 2021 and October 2023. Read on for more details, including exactly which products the recall includes and what to do if you’ve purchased them.

PowerXL Air Fryer Recall

The recall affects two models of air fryers that are made by Empower Brands and sold under the PowerXL name. Both models have two baskets that can be used together or separately. A U-shaped connector holds the two baskets together, and it is prone to breaking, which is why the recall was issued. If the connector breaks, baskets can fall and expel the hot food inside of them, potentially burning users.

The models are the DUAF-10 and DUAF-005 Vortex Dual-Basket Air Fryers in black or cinnamon colors. The model numbers and UPC codes can be found on the bottom of the air fryer or printed on the power cord.

What To Do If You Have Purchased An Empower Brands Air Fryer
