Amazon announced that the company is prepared to give the Covid-19 vaccine to its workers in Amazon warehouses and Whole Foods markets “at the earliest appropriate time.”
The company announced in a December 21st letter that it had secured a deal with a licensed third-party health care provider to administer the vaccines. Wow, this is huge.

The company also stated in a letter to Washington governor Jay Inslee that it was poised to administer the coronavirus vaccination to it's nearly 20,000 workers in the state, and that it should be prioritized because the workers are deemed "essential" amid the global health crisis.
An Amazon spokesperson also asserted that the state's largest employer's workers should receive the vaccine first.

Company spokesperson Glenn Kuper said in an email to the office of King Country Executive Dow Constantine that the company is "ready to partner with the state and King County to help with logistics or other assistance should they need it."
The juggernaut previously asked the CDC to prioritize its fulfillment center workers when distributing the vaccine.

“In many ways, our essential workers have served as heroes in their communities during this pandemic,” senior vice president of worldwide operations Dave Clark wrote to the health agency last month. He also reiterated that these essentials workers "cannot work from home." So true!
Considering that many states are receiving nearly half of the Covid-19 vaccines that they need, this may be a long shot for Amazon! Stay tuned.
