Many stores have changed their return policies in a major way for Covid-19 (ahem, Costco) but Amazon‘s recent announcement that they’ve expanded their holiday return window by a month just might take the cake!
The company released the following statement about the Extended Holiday Return Program, which is also reflected on their "Return Policies" page now: "For the 2020 holiday season, most of the items shipped between October 1 and December 31 can be returned until January 31, 2021."
We’re providing more shipping, delivery, pickup, and returns options for customers so the holiday season can be as stress-free, convenient, and safe as possible. https://t.co/mjd608P3gp

Amazon is on the list with Target, Kohl's, Bed Bath & Beyond and more for extending the return period for gifts during the 2020 holiday season.
If you recall, Amazon originally announced that it was extending return windows due to the novel coronavirus back in March.
"If you live in the US or Canada, most items ordered on Amazon between March 1st and April 30th can be returned until May 31st, 2020."
We're so happy they continued the grace period for the holidays!

There is one caveat--some returns are "subject to a restocking fee," the website says. "Some returns are free at UPS, Kohl’s and other drop-off locations."
Outside of the holiday season, Amazon offers a 30-day return policy for most items.
