Big news: the two Android apps that are destroying your battery life are not secret, hidden apps that are going to take you by surprise. On the contrary, they are apps that you use so often you are going to think to yourself: of course these are to blame for why my phone can’t hold a charge!
Apps that consume the most resources are usually going to be the same apps that drag our batteries down. You can change settings on your Android to help minimize the effect they have on your battery (such a lowering your screen brightness), but unless you commit to using some of these apps less (or deleting them altogether), you may still deal with battery issues. Turning your attention to these two apps can help.

1. Facebook
There are a number of reasons why Facebook is so taxing on your battery. It uses your phone’s processor to load posts, photos, and videos. It can track your location and push you notifications for every like, comment, post, and even ad that is new and comes your way. And it may be automatically playing videos, which is also a big drain on your battery. Deleting Facebook is the best way to conserve battery power, but you can also try things like disabling Auto-Play Videos, Location Services, and turning off unnecessary notifications.

2. Snapchat
Like Facebook, Snapchat uses your phone’s CPU and RAM and relies on knowing your location for Snap Maps and geofilters, needs to access your camera to take photos and video, and includes animated stickers, filters, lenses, and more. You can turn off Location Services, Auto-Play Videos, and Background App Refresh to conserve some battery, but the best solution of all is to delete the app.
