There are times when your phone battery is out of juice and could use a major boost. These are the days when it feels like your phone is charging at a snail’s pace and you don’t have hours more to wait until you can use it. There’s actually a tech hack that can help with that:

Two settings on your iPhone that you may not realize can help boost your battery charging capabilities can really help. Instead of waiting patiently, when you need more battery power in a “rush,” here’s a tip for getting your iPhone to charge faster.

Enable Low Power Mode and Airplane Mode
For all of those iPhone users who rarely enable Low Power Mode and think of Airplane Mode as a setting you only ever use on actual airplanes, you could be missing out on an opportunity to gain more battery power in a rush. Both of these settings reduce iPhone battery consumption in different ways. Low Power Mode disables certain features such as automatic mail fetching, visual effects, and background app refresh — settings that consume significant battery power. By limiting these processes, your phone uses less power while it’s charging, which means your charging sessions can be faster and more efficient.

When Airplane Mode is turned on, all wireless communication features are turned off. This means no Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, or cellular data. As with the Low Power Mode setting, your iPhone consumes less power while charging so it can focus on the task at hand (aka charging!).
As you can probably predict, the benefit of enabling both of these settings at the same time is that your phone uses significantly less power. Then you can charge your device and enjoy a speedier charging session that’s perfect for those times you can’t wait.
