It’s important to remember that our diets can influence the likelihood of developing various cancers. Consuming high-calorie and high-fat foods can contribute to obesity, which is often linked to an elevated cancer risk. In an educational TikTok video, breast cancer survivor and health coach Jessica (@breast.friends_united) revealed four foods she has permanently eliminated from her diet following her recovery. She detailed how these foods can severely harm your health.

At the beginning of her clip, Jessica said: “here’s a statistic that we need to address: half of our population will face cancer sometime within their lifetime. That’s unacceptable.” She continued: “that’s one out of every two people, and these are four foods that I used to eat before my breast cancer diagnosis at age 31 that I will never touch again.”

After Surviving Breast Cancer, a Health Coach Swears Off These 4 Carcinogenic Foods—Here’s Why

1. Meats With Nitrate

Up first, Jessica suggested avoiding meats with nitrate. "Nitrate is a known carcinogen and it's found in deli meat, sausage, smoked sausage and various meats." She added that "you have to look at the ingredient label, and it will say nitrate on there." Experts often warn that processed meat can eventually lead to cancer by harming cells in the colon and rectum. This harm can result in mistakes in the cells' DNA, raising the likelihood of cancer.

2. Commercial Milk

Jessica told a story about her aunt making her drink "milk at every dinner" as a child and that she was told that it was nutritious "and good for my bones."

However, she stressed: "I will never touch commercial milk again" due to the "rsbt hormone and GMO grain that are fed to the cows." She encouraged her followers to "go organic" when it comes to milk.

3. TV/ Frozen Dinners

She explained that as a child, she also loved "TV and frozen dinners," but noted that these can be dangerous as they can "contain starch, protein and sweets, which will totally spike your insulin." She added: "not to mention what kind of chemical ingredients and artificial ingredients are included in here. No way."

4. Diet Sodas

The health coach also encouraged viewers to cut out diet sodas from their daily menu as there is "no way" that they are healthy since they contain "artificial sweeteners such as aspartame." She noted that diet sodas can also contain an "ingredient called benzoate," which can "convert to benzene, which is a known carcinogen." She signed off saying that "this stuff is dangerous."

@breast.friends_united I loved all of these foods as a kid/young adult. The Bottom Line

Cancer is a multifaceted disease shaped by numerous elements, such as genetics, lifestyle, and diet. Although no specific food can directly cause or prevent cancer, some foods can elevate the risk because of their effects on the body. For women over 40 who are worried about breast cancer, paying close attention to dietary choices is crucial. Jessica has highlighted some foods to limit, as hormonal shifts and the aging process can increase vulnerability to certain cancers.
