The recalled products include myCharge POWER HUB All-In-One 10,000mAh chargers with model numbers “AO10FK-A,” “AO10FK-B,” and “AO10FK-C.” Details on what to do if you own one of these chargers are provided below.
Portable Chargers Recalled From Costco
Costco has recalled three models of myCharge portable chargers after receiving 120 reports of overheating and two reports of house fires caused by the products. Additionally, the company received 115 returns mentioning melting, smoking, fire, burning, and sparking. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
The recalled products are black, labeled with "myCharge," and feature two attached cables and retractable wall prongs. Model numbers are printed on the back.
To determine if you have a recalled charger, check the date codes. Affected units will have date codes ending in 21 or 22, or one of the following: 0123, 0923, 1523, or 1723.
If you own one of the recalled chargers, it’s crucial to stop using it immediately and contact myCharge for a replacement.
Disposing of these chargers can be tricky since they contain lithium-ion batteries, which pose a hazard if thrown out with household trash.
"Recalled lithium-ion batteries should be disposed of in accordance with local and state ordinances, following the procedures established by your municipal recycling center for damaged/defective/recalled lithium batteries," the recall states.
Earlier this month, a recall on cookie dough sold at Costco was also announced.
Staying informed about recalls like this is essential for keeping you and your family safe. Other recent recalls include glass coffee mugs and SPF moisturizer.
Stay safe!
