Burn Risk
The coffee makers have been recalled after Aldi received 25 reports of the machine expelling hot water from the top of the machine. "The recalled coffee makers can expel hot water from the top of the machine, posing a burn hazard," the CPSC reported in its statement.
Coffee makers are usually placed on countertops, out of reach of children, however, this malfunction of the machines that causes hot water to spew out can seriously harm children who may be nearby, as well as adults operating the machine. The water is heated up internally to an extremely high temperature, leaving users at risk of first- or second-degree burns.
