Costco Just Made A Huge Change To Its $1.50 Hot Dog Combo—It's Not Raising The Price!

Costco recently made a change to their beloved hot dog combo. But don’t worry, fanatics—the price hasn’t changed just yet. You’re actually getting a new hydration option.

Yes, there’s no reason to fret. Costco CEO Ron Vachris is sticking to his promise to keep the price of this famous food combo—which features a good old Costco hot dog and a soda—at $1.50. The price has remained at this unbelievably low point since 1981 (Wowza!), and this March, Vachris assured members it would stay that way as long as he has a say in it. But that doesn’t mean he can’t shake things up in other ways.

In fact, there’s something good on the horizon for those who don’t love soda: water!

Costco Hot Dog Combo Now Offers Water

If you're on a health journey, you're probably making efforts to stay hydrated and cut down on sugar. Well, you might be giving up processed meats like hot dogs too, considering all the risks, but hey—baby steps, guys.

For those who want to limit their intake of liquid calories and sugar-loaded soda (it's seriously bad news for your health, as much as we hate to say it), Costco's now offering something a bit more appealing with the hot dog combo: Bottled water. That'll quench your thirst!

Instagram account @costcoailes recently spread the word to their followers, posting a photo of the changed food court offering.

This isn't necessarily an earth-shattering adjustment, but that doesn't mean people didn't have things to say in the comments.

"There’s a water button on the fountain drinks. So hmmmm. Stupid move," reads one comment. But if you ask us, bottled water can taste a lot different than what comes from the soda fountain.

But others had more of a problem with the value: "This doesn’t make sense. I noticed they removed the bottled water vending machine that was 25¢ so shouldn’t it be $1.25?" Touché!

Eco conscious consumers had a problem with all the needless plastic this begets, which is another valid argument.

However, many members are happy with the change, dropping simple words of excitement: Awesome!"

What do you think? Will you take water with your dog next time, or stick to your Coca-Cola?
