Whether you’re spending Valentine’s Day with your sweetheart, your best friends, or just a bottle of wine, one thing’s for sure: You can’t go wrong when you turn on a warm, cozy, romantic movie (especially if there’s chocolate involved—which, by the way, has health benefits, thank you very much). However, romances and romantic comedies aren’t exactly known for being the most critically acclaimed films around–but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a plethora of fantastic options out there! It just means it may be hard to sort out the really great ones from the sea of, frankly, really bad ones. Luckily, we’re here to help.
Below, we’ve put together a list of five of our favorite romance movies out there. The best part? You can stream them all right now on either Amazon Prime or Netflix. Happy viewing!

6 Best Movies You Should Stream On Netflix Right Now—They Have Really High Ratings!
1. Notting Hill
Who doesn’t love Hugh Grant?! If you’re in the mood for an ultimate classic rom-com with all the fixings, this is the one to go for. It’s got everything: a handsome British bookstore owner (that’s our dear Hugh), an American movie star (the gorgeous Julia Roberts), and a love story for the ages. Plus, Rotten Tomatoes rates it a solid 84%. If you don’t trust us, we hope you’ll trust them.
2. When Harry Met Sally
This funny, heartfelt classic sets out to answer the age-old question: Can a man and woman ever just be friends? (Spoiler alert: the verdict, according to this film, is, uh, definitely not.) Regardless of what your stance on the issue is, you’ll love rooting for the adorable and incredibly well-dressed Sally Albright (Meg Ryan) and the neurotic but lovable Harry Burns (Billy Crystal) as they navigate their friends-to-lovers arc. It’s also got a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is no small feat.
3. Romeo and Juliet
Okay, okay, we all know how this one ends… But, still, there’s no denying that the romance is there, and the chemistry between young Leonardo DiCaprio as Romeo and Clare Danes as Juliet is just too good to ignore. Plus, Baz Luhrman’s take on this iconic Shakespeare play features stunning cinematography, a killer soundtrack, and Hawaiin shirts–really, what’s not to love? We’d say Rotten Tomatoes’ rating of 73% is pretty good, too.
4. Bridget Jones’ Diary
Bridget Jones is living (okay, fictional) proof that there is hope for us all. Featuring another neurotic but loveable main character played by Renée Zellweger, this modern take on Pride and Prejudice really has everything we could ask for in a great Galentine’s day flick–including both Hugh Grant and Colin Firth. Yes, please! We love watching Bridget’s search for love, and we think you will too–especially since it’s got an 80% on Rotten Tomatoes.
5. To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before
This list wouldn’t be complete without one perfect teen romcom. And if you ask us, it doesn’t get much more perfect than this instant classic. Lana Candor is a star in her breakout role as teenager Lara Jean Covey, who accidentally mails cringe-worthy, confessional letters to every boy she’s ever had a crush on. And when she agrees to fake-date the hunky Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo), the rest, as they say, is history. Despite the bad rap teen movies get, this one has the highest Rotten Tomatoes rating on this list, coming in at 96%.
