The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a current recall for cucumbers distributed across at least 26 states and five Canadian provinces due to a possible Salmonella contamination. As of November 26th, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports that at least 68 individuals have fallen ill, with 18 requiring hospitalization.

From October 12th to November 26th, various retailers such as Costco, Walmart, and Wegmans sold the American cucumbers. The FDA notes that Walmart has also included Fresh Cut Cucumber Slices in their list of recalled products related to this outbreak, available at certain locations.

Important Recall PLU Sticker Numbers

As per the FDA, several illnesses have been linked to the cucumbers in question. These recalled cucumbers typically feature a PLU sticker #4062 bearing the "SunFed" logo.

If you are uncertain whether your cucumbers are part of the recall, the federal agency recommends reaching out to the store where you bought them.

If you bought any cucumbers between October 12th and November 26th that fit the recall details, it's recommended to throw them out right away and clean any surfaces they touched.
