In recent years, consumers have grown increasingly cautious about the safety and quality of the food they eat. Concerns about additives, preservatives, and the overall integrity of the food supply chain have led many to scrutinize the products they purchase more closely than ever before. This heightened vigilance is particularly evident in the popularity of organic and locally sourced foods, as people seek greater transparency and assurances about what they are consuming.
A recent viral TikTok video by user Dion (@dion.drange) has sparked a fresh wave of anxiety and discussion regarding food dye, particularly found on Eggland’s Best eggs purchased at Walmart. Find all of the details below.
In his viral video, Dion showcases a dozen eggs purchased from Walmart, specifically from the brand Eggland’s Best, and raises serious concerns about the quality and safety of these eggs. Two of the eggs are cracked into a bowl, revealing what appears to be paint on the eggshells.
“I don’t know what Walmart has got going on, but they’re painting all these eggs,” Dion says in the video, pointing out the red spots visible on the eggs. He holds an eggshell up to the camera to demonstrate, showing that the red dye seems to penetrate the shell. “Look, y’all, the paint is coming through the eggs! And not only that, you can see it in this bowl.”
