Netflix subscribers are about to get hit by a price increase–yikes!
The new rates for the platform are about to go into effect, which means an extra $1 per month for most US customers. Here’s everything you need to know:

The company announced new fees last year, and now that it's 2021 they're about to go into effect.
Standard customers who previously paid $12.99 per month will now shell out $13.99, while premium members who paid $15.99 will now pay $17.99. The base level plan is still $8.

The price hike comes as many U.S. families struggle to make ends meet, although the Covid-19 pandemic has been good for the Netflix business. The California-based company added almost 26 million new subscribers worldwide in the first half of 2020.
