An executive for CVS has confirmed that the pharmacy chain is ready to begin offering the COVID-19 vaccine in its stores by the end of February (or as early as mid-December to frontline workers), with the capacity to “20-25 million vaccinations per month.” Wow!
Chief medical officer Dr. Troy Brennan appeared on CNN with anchor Kate Bolduan last week to discuss the company’s preparedness to administer the coronavirus vaccine as soon as it’s approved.
According to Dr. Brennan, it could be just *days* after the vaccine receives final approval that it would begin "Phase 1," or administering them to nursing facilities. Pinch us--it's really happening!

Appearing on the news program on November 20th, the CMO revealed that the company was "working around the clock to be prepared when the vaccine is available," alongside Operation Warp Speed, the public-private COVID task force.
Dr. Brennan revealed that the company will make the first doses of the vaccine available to skilled nursing facilities.
Once the approval takes place (after advisory committee meetings this month and a final decision from the FDA after that), Brennan said it could mobilize the vaccine within "two or three days" or possibly as soon as mid-December. Wow!
