It’s getting cold out there — and many of us are preparing for even more time spent indoors. Having additional time to yourself may not be on your holiday wish list this year, but get ready for the silver lining: Disney+ is here to make your darkest and coldest days and nights so much warmer and brighter. If you’re a fan of the Disney streaming service, you’re in luck. Disney+ just dropped so many hours of new content for November. Here’s a peek at what you can expect.
So, you’ve already satisfied your childhood Disney princess movie needs and are looking for something a little different to enjoy on the Disney+ channel? While the channel’s November offerings deviate from its usual amazing menu of Stars Wars, Marvel, and all-things princess-related, it’s worth mentioning that one princess — Mulan — is coming to life in a life-action remake of the cartoon film. The live-action remake of Mulan is available in November for $30 (in addition to subscriber fees) or you can wait until Dec 4 to watch it without paying a fee.
There will plenty of opportunities to relive your childhood this month. Classics like Tim Burton’s Edward Scissorhands, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, the Tom Hanks mermaid flick Splash, romantic classic The Princess Bride, 10 Things I Hate About You, Freaky Friday, and The Journey of Natty Gann are all making their debut on Disney+ this November.
Looking to take things back even further and dive into true classics from past decades? Start with Mary Poppins, which will have you whistling tunes you thought you forgot. Old Yeller is a timeless classic about the love between a little boy and a dog, while 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea explores underwater adventures and stars a giant sea monster that attacks ships. The Sound of Music is yet another musical classic that you won’t want to miss and The Parent Trap is the all-too-adorable story of twin sisters who try to reunite their divorced parents.
Disney+ didn’t forget to bring on the holiday cheer with two pure Christmas classics: Miracle On 34th Street and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Not only does Disney+ have so many of your classics covered, but it also brings you an exciting number of films that are going to be classics in a few years’ time. Among them: a live recording of Hamilton; Apollo: Missions to the Moon, a National Geographic documentary about the moon landing; and Black Is King, Beyonce’s visual album that features traditional African music, incredible choreography and costumes, and Bey’s directorial and screenwriting debut.
Staying at home just got a million times more exciting.
