Poultry company Foster Farms is currently recalling approximately 148,000 pounds of fully cooked frozen chicken-breast patty products, The Street reports, that were recently shipped to Costco stores. On October 29th, The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service explained that these frozen items may possibly be contaminated, and customers have reported finding hard, clear pieces of plastic within them. Affected Frozen Chicken Product Details:
While there are luckily no confirmed reports of injury associated with consumption of these frozen chicken products, officials believe that these pieces of plastic could be notably sharp, which could possibly cause injury. According to officials, these fully cooked frozen, breaded chicken breast patties were produced on August 11th.
The affected products are "80-oz. plastic bag packages" that contain 20 pieces of "CHICKEN PATTIES BREADED CHICKEN BREAST PATTIES WITH RIB MEAT" with the best-by date of "08/11/23," the establishment number "P-33901," and lot code "3*2223**" printed in inkjet lettering on the back edge of the packaging. The following number can also be found beneath the barcode, "7527899724."
These items were shipped to Costco distribution centers in the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Utah, and Washington. They may have been "further distributed to Costco retail locations," The Street adds.
