Green Tea Supplements

If you struggle with inflammation and stress, a green tea supplement--or a vitamin that contains green tea--could be a useful addition to your daily routine.

Green tea is well known for its anti-inflammatory properties. According to Healthline, the catechins in green tea can help reduce inflammation.

The article explains, "Green and matcha teas are sources of the anti-inflammatory polyphenol EGCG, which may reduce inflammation and symptoms associated with IBDs and other inflammation-driven chronic conditions."

That's not green tea's only benefit.

Green tea also can have a reducing impact on stress. Edison de Mello, MD, PhD, a board-certified integrative medicine physician and founder of probiotics line ActivatedYou; and the Care/of scientific advisory team, tells Byrdie: "[Theanine] is an amino acid found in green tea, among other places, and is connected to the relaxing feeling you get when you drink a cup of tea."

De Mello adds, "Theanine has been shown to reduce stress responses in your body so you feel more relaxed, even in situations that stress you out."

Likewise, if you start your morning with theanine, you are more likely to stay relaxed throughout the rest of your day--even if it becomes more stressful.

With that in mind, if you are combatting stress and inflammation, a simple change to your morning routine could be the best way to start feeling like your best self.

A green tea supplement could help get rid of inflammation, while also reducing stress. That's not all; green tea can also help boost your metabolism and give you a boost of energy as well.
