Although fast food may be delicious—especially when you have a specific craving for something greasy—it’s safe to say that it comes with a fair share of downsides. It’s probably not a surprise to hear that regularly indulging in fast food can lead to a range of health effects. But you also run the risk of being sorely disappointed by the quality of the food.

We’ve all been there: You’re excited to dig into your meal, you unwrap it, and what you find is seriously unappetizing. From a Taco Bell burrito that looked like a “soggy toilet paper roll” to missing fries, there are plenty of disappointments that could be lurking in that paper bag. One customer recently took to Reddit to air their grievances with Burger King over a burger that calls for explanation.

Burger King serves up unappetizing burger

'BK can you explain pls?' user EliJenesis asked in the Burger King subreddit. They shared a video of what appears to be a burger made with two pieces of bread (perhaps the kind used in the limited time Burger King melts?). This certainly isn't the burger we're used to, which is typically between a classic bun.

It's also worth noting that the burger itself doesn't look very tasty. It's pale, the cheese is barely melted, and the toppings (ketchup, pickles, and bacon) appear to have been haphazardly thrown on.

"So you asked for a bacon cheeseburger on the sourdough bread?" one person attempted to clarify.

"Nope just a regular bacon cheeseburger with extra onions," the original poster replied.

One person chimed in with a possible explanation: "My best guess is they are trying to get rid of the melt bread… the melt promotion ended so stores with extra bread are SUPPOSED to throw it out…. Might be a cheap franchisee who wanted to just use it up."

"They should have asked first," another pointed out.

Regardless, many people found the meal unacceptable.

"Gross, and I love BK. So they need to fire someone!" one commenter wrote.

Aside from the issue with the bread, though, it may be time to accept that this quality isn't short of standard from many fast food franchises. "The congealed plastic cheese, bacon-like meat, and grey patty are all normal," someone said. LOL!
