If you’re working on shedding some pounds, you might find yourself in a bit of a quandary: How can you still enjoy your favorite treats—like sweet, indulgent coffee beverages and delicious pastries—without derailing your fitness journey?

Many specialty coffee drinks from places like Starbucks are packed with unhealthy ingredients that can jeopardize your health and hinder your weight loss efforts.

However, there’s no need to completely abandon your Starbucks routine to achieve your target weight.

By making smart choices, you can stay on track while still indulging your sweet tooth. Some drinks only need slight adjustments to lower their sugar content, while there are a few options that are perfectly fine as they are.

In an engaging Instagram video, trainer and health expert Terrance Crawford highlighted two popular Starbucks breakfast items and drinks that can help you reach your weight loss goals and satisfy your cravings.

60+ Gift Ideas For Everyone On Your List

4 Weight Loss-Friendly Starbucks Orders That Are High-Protein And Low-Calorie, According To An Expert

1. Egg White  & Roasted Red Pepper Bites

The trainer mentions that these snacks contain just 170 calories and offer 13 grams of protein in each serving. They can make a suitable quick breakfast, and are made with cage-free egg whites, Monterey Jack cheese, spinach, and fire-roasted red peppers.

2. Turkey Sage Danish

This pastry contains just 270 calories and provides 8 grams of protein. It features flavorful turkey sausage gently mixed with a smooth béchamel sauce, all wrapped in a golden, flaky dough. Crawford deems it to be his "favorite thing on the menu right now," adding that "it's very flavorful."

3. Salted Caramel Cold Foam Cold Brew

This beverage contains just 80 calories and 5 grams of sugar. For an even more diet-friendly option, the video creator suggests using almond milk and a single pump of caramel syrup, or you can replace the syrup with a sugar alternative.

4. Brown Sugar Oat Milk Shaken Espresso Iced

This drink has just 120 calories and 13 grams of sugar. For those aiming to lose weight, Crawford suggests mixing equal parts oat milk and almond milk to reduce the sugar level, since almond milk has less natural sugar.

The Bottom Line

A well-balanced breakfast is crucial for kicking off your day on the right foot. It sets the stage for your energy levels and helps maintain steady blood sugar throughout the day.

Although fast food isn’t usually linked with healthy choices, it can sometimes be a handy option when you’re pressed for time. Luckily, even at chains like Starbucks, you can find breakfast items that align with your nutritional and weight loss goals without compromising on taste or satisfaction.
