Dog Food Is Being Recalled In 19 States Due To Possible Salmonella Contamination—Pet Owners, Take Note

Dog owners beware—dog food sold online and in stores has been recalled by Carolina Prime Pet, Inc. due to the fact that it may be contaminated with salmonella, the company and FDA announced on Nov. 22nd.
This recall affects 16-ounce bags of Hollywood Feed Carolina Made Chicken Chips sold online and affecting 19 states. Find all of the details, including what to do if you’re in possession of one of the recalled products, below.
Latest Dog Food RecallNorth Carolina-based company Carolina Prime Pet, Inc. announced via release on Friday, November 22nd that it was pulling a lot of their dog food under the Hollywood Feed brand from shelves due to possible Salmonella contamination.
The company states that the potential for contamination was noted after testing was performed by a third-party lab, and that no illnesses have been reported in connection with this problem as of the time of the release. Phew!
The company noted that 400 bags of the pet food was affected, all of which featured purple and black packaging, the lot number 20051324L2 and the expiration date 11/13/25.
