“No matter what I did on iCloud, it would always say my storage is full,” Justina says. Even after Justina says she deleted photos and files her iCloud would still tell her that it was full and she needed to spend another $10 to gain more storage space. To make matters worse, Justine says she didn’t realize how much mobile data iCloud uses (for her, personally, it took up 300 gigs of data to sync her photos, which was more than her Instagram and personal hotspot). For Justina, it was “absolutely absurd” that iCloud was taking up the most amount of data and wasn’t even working well on her behalf.

Another Option: Google Photos

About one week into every month, Justina says she would get a notice from her service provider that she has 85 percent storage let on iCloud, and she wasn’t sure how this was possible. Justina says she has stopped using iCloud because she feels it is a waste of money. “I have officially converted to a Google Photos girl,” she says. Google Photos automatically syncs your photos and then prompts you to delete it from your device to conserve space. “I have stored like tens of thousands of photos and videos, onto Google Photos and I’ve still only used just over half of my storage,” Justina raves.

If you’re fed up with iCloud storage and don’t want to spend another dollar on more storage, remember there are alternatives out there. You needn’t feel the need to stay faithful to iCloud if you find it isn’t delivering the storage capacity you need and is costing you more money than it is worth.
