Apple’s latest unraveling is the iPhone 14, a series of new phones that are inspiring plenty of conversation. Among the chatter you might be hearing this burning question: “is it worth the hype?”
Given the iPhone’s price tag, it’s no wonder that tech-curious buyers will want to make sure they’re making a smart, informed decision prior to upgrading the phone they already have or – if they’re new to Apple — making the iPhone 14 their very first phone.
“Apple has always been ahead of its competitors in research and technology,” said “Neil” a digital marketing manager at Mobile Guru Australia. “Every time Apple launches a new iPhone, it creates hype around the world, and with the new iPhone 14 release, it seems like Apple is leading the way with new innovations with a couple of unique features. But is the new iPhone 14 worth the hype? Let’s go through its features and have a clear understanding of it.”
iPhone 14 Features
An Updated Camera
One of the best features of the new iPhone is the camera, according to Neil. “It has a dual-lens camera that takes incredible photos and videos,” Neil says. “The camera also has night mode and portrait mode features; both are great for taking high-quality pictures in low light and with shallow depth of field.”
A Sleek Design
“iPhone 14 has a sleek and stylish design,” Neil says. “The bezels are much thinner than previous models and it has a gorgeous display.”
It’s Faster
“iPhone 14 is twice as fast in downloading and over 50% faster in uploading in 5G compared to iPhone 13 but even if we switch it to LTE, download and upload speeds are almost 4 times faster in iPhone 14,” Neil says. “So iPhone 14 would have better reception and a much faster speed.”
A Different SIM Card
Apple ditched the SIM slot in iPhone14, which can disappoint many people, especially if you like to switch SIM cards, Neil says. But on the bright side, iPhone 14 supports up to 8 or more e-SIMs with 2enabled simultaneously, whereas iPhone 13 supports 2 e-SIMs plus the physicalSIM, according to Neil.
Emergency Settings
“iPhone 14 includes improved thermal performance, new crash detection, and an emergency SOS feature that lets you get help when there is no cellular network connection,” Neil says.
Battery
Finally, how is the iPhone 14’s battery capacity?
“The battery life has been improved significantly from previous models and can now last up to 18 hours on a single charge,” Neil says. “iPhone 14 has 1extra hour of battery life. iPhone 14 has a 3279 mAh battery, whereas iPhone 13has a 3240 mAh battery.”
The Verdict
Whether or not you should splurge on the iPhone 14 all depends on your needs. “The new iPhone 14 is worth the investment if you are a travel enthusiast, explorer or hiker,” Neil says. “You can use its unique emergency SOS feature to get help in areas with no network. However, If you already have an iPhone 13, you are better off with that, but if you are using a 3-4 years older model of iPhone, there is no harm in investing in a brand new iPhone 14.”
