We’re just a few days away from the September 22nd release of the iPhone 15, but rumors are still flying about what customers can expect. Apple is notoriously mysterious about its products, so it’s not unusual to not be privy to all of the details just yet. With that said, quite a few tidbits have been revealed and many loyal Apple fans are getting a feel for what to expect.
You can pre-order your iPhone 15 now, but before you make that decision: here are all the details that have been leaked so far, including rumors about its price and a new button on the device.
Price Hike
You probably expect to pay a pretty penny when you invest in an iPhone — any iPhone model. But recent rumors suggest the iPhone 15 may require that you open up your wallet a little deeper. The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are expected to be priced comparatively to older iPhone models. But the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max could start at $1,099 to $1,199 and $1,199 to $1,299, respectively, because of advancements in their periscope camera technology and titanium chassis.
An Action Button May Replace the Ring/Silent Switch
Another rumor is that an action button feature will be added to the iPhone 15 models that replaces the ring/silent switch. This physical button would let users rapidly access functions and settings without having to unlock their phones first or accessing an app.
Some of the features you might expect from the action button include: a flashlight, magnifier, translate, voice memos, silent mode, shortcuts, camera, focus, and accessibility, which includes VoiceOver and Zoom.
An Improved Camera
Camera improvements to expect include: a 48MP main camera, a 24MP default for super-high-resolution photos, next-generation portrait, and a 2x Telephoto option, according to Apple.
Gorgeous Design
Let’s not beat around the bush: the iPhone 15’s design is simply stunning. It’s available in 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch display sizes and features a new contoured edge, strengthened back glass, with color infused throughout the back glass, creating five colors. It comes in black, blue, green, yellow, and pink.
Safety Features
The iPhone 15’s safety features have been expanded to include Crash Detection and Emergency SOS via satellite. The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are also introducing Roadside Assistance via satellite technology. That means if you’re driving and get into trouble but lack a WiFi or cellular connection, you can connect to AAA and get help.
There’s little doubt the iPhone 15 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting Apple phone debuts users have seen in a long time.
