Taking photos is a great way to immortalize your memories. It’s no doubt that as much as we want to live in the moment, we also want to capture it too. More often than not, we enjoy talking about these memories and sharing these photos with others. Nothing beats the feeling of reliving and reminiscing the best times of your life. Thanks to technology, this is made possible and sending content can be done at the touch of a button.

But if you’re an iPhone user, listen up: there’s a certain Location Services setting that might be putting your safety at risk. When this setting is enabled and the person on the receiving end saves your photo or video, just by swiping up they can immediately access where you’re located. (Yikes!) Watch this TikTok video below to know more.

In the TikTok, user @srh0e explains how to disable that one Location Services setting so you can protect the information from your photos and videos, making sure that no one will be able to find out where you live. He says, ” Go to your settings. Then what you wanna look for is privacy. Click privacy. Click location services. And then you wanna scroll all the way down to where it says camera.” When you get to the part where it shows you the different options for location access, choose never. This is the last step and once you’re done with this, @srh0e shares that “you should be good.”

Content creator @jessicawangofficial shows another way to protect the metadata from your photos and videos. Before sharing your content, swipe up and click “Options.” It will show several settings including one for location. Jessica warns, “Make sure to turn off location.” You can do this by simply toggling the button to the left so that it’s completely disabled.
